SUMMARY OF WORK
Construction of the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center (formerly Fort Belvoir Community Hospital) began November 8, 2007, and was completed on March 30, 2011. HDR/Dewberry Joint Venture designed the project and the construction contractor was Turner-Gilbane Joint Venture. The $806.9 million, 1,275,000 sq. ft. military construction project features a hospital complex with 120 in-patient beds, primary and specialty care clinics, an ambulance shelter, and 3,500 parking spaces.
